Louisa Schmolke broke into the international art scene thanks to her 1.6x1.6m Grid of Memories artwork entitled '3024' featured in the Royal Scottish Academy 197th Annual Show. Like many artists, she’s been working hard for a long time building her craft and following her own winding way. From architecture school to working full time to covid derailing her plans to move to the US, she’s been boldly trusting herself in choosing her next step. Unlike many artists, she’s using the practical skills from her architecture training to blend creating art that inspires her. She leads by thinking about how the audience will interact and receive each piece. Her winning formula is creating recognition across many creative spaces, a strong social media following, and new doors that keep opening for her.

She’s a gentle force of energy with such a welcoming spirit. She’s been stepping into a new phase of her journey, sharing what she’s learned from losing her husband to cancer, being a single mom supporting her son’s passion for music, and running three businesses on top of all the feelings, changes and newness. I’m so excited for you to meet her and experience a bit of her wisdom. Enjoy!
